Trip Reports 2024
Jan, 2024 Sunday - Eskimo Hike Fort Laurens (Joe)
We had 15 hikers show up today for this short notice hike. From the parking area at Fort Laurens we hiked down river 1.6 miles before turning around. There was about 5" of snow on the ground but the walking was not hard as the trail had been packed down a bit from other hikers. It was a cool day of 24° but not bad as there was little wind. There were a good many birds in the woods and we even spotted a couple of white "Arctic" snow cats from a nearby residence. Following the walk a group of us went to Los Venados in Zoar for dinner. Thanks to Joe for suggesting this hike. ---Ken
