Oct 22, 2016 Dayhike Little Mountain Hike and Canopy tour at Holden Arboritum 11:00 am (Jenny)
___We will hike Little Mountain at 11:00 am. I'm going to guess that this is moderately strenuous. Once the site of resort hotels where the wealthy residents of Cleveland went to escape the summer heat and the industry of the city, Little Mountain is now a refuge for nature, home to towering white pines, diverse plant communities, unique geological formations and abundant wildlife. Little Mountain is a private area; hikes are only permitted when led by a Holden Volunteer, so there is a cost involved and space is limited to about 22. Bring a snack/sack lunch to enjoy after the Little Mountain hike. Then we will tour the new Canopy beginning around 2:15 pm. Holden says this takes about 90 minutes. Then we will head for dinner/social time, TBD.
