Jan 21, 2018 Dayhike Buckeye Trail Leesville Lake Bowerstown, Oh Carroll Co ( potluck dinner after hike ) 1:00 pm (Kim)
__While at our August dayhike at Ott's Lost Forest, I met our host's nephew & niece (Keith and Danielle Ott). They own the Leesville Lake Marina and invited the club to hike the Buckeye Trail right behind them. They also generously offered the use of their large customer lounge area so that we could have another wonderful potluck like we did at Ott's Lost Forest. Plenty of tables, chairs, and outlets for crockpots. June will bring paper plates, cups, napkins, and plastic utensils. Bring a dish to share and your own beverage.
__We will hike about 5 miles. Trail is just a bit more rugged than usual, so bring your hiking sticks/poles. I also recommend hiking boots for good ankle support. The halfway point will put us right behind the marina, so if somebody needs/wants to shorten their hike, they can head to the marina and stir the food:) There is absolutely zero cell reception in the area, so if you are running late or get lost, you won't be able to reach me by phone. Or, you might be able to reach the Ott's on the marina phone.
